Counseling and Mediation

Counseling is available for most problems, including anxiety, panic disorder, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, manic-depression, divorce, recovery from trauma, family problems, grief, and stress.  Marital and family therapy are available.  Assistance is available for children with behavior problems, depression, excessive worries or fears, Attention-Deficit Disorder, anger problems, and academic problems. Dr. Goebel- Komala is qualified to evaluate adults and children for Attention-Deficit Disorder.  Most insurance plans are accepted.  A reduced fee is available for persons without insurance.

Mediation is available for couples who are experiencing a divorce, or who are already divorced.  Mediation is a way for divorcing couples to work out the details of parenting, division of property, and financial support in a way that minimizes their conflict.  Mediation is cost effective because both parties share the cost of one mediator, and mediation can prevent lengthy and expensive court battles.  Parties use their own lawyers for brief consultations at periodic intervals during the course of the mediation.  At the end of the mediation, a lawyer files the required paperwork. Parties can use a mediator from the beginning to the end of their divorce, for parts of their divorce negotiations, or for conflicts that arise after the divorce is final.
